In an effort to provide a well rounded winter education program, NYSRA will have a running theme or a series known as The Complete Referee this winter. It is our hope that with each of the subsections and subtopics in this series we will be able to provide a curriculum that will meet the needs of referees of all levels and ages. Our hope is to provide crucial information while at the same time engage referees in an open forum on the Laws of the Game, conventions, interpretations, and most importantly on our experiences. With the program and our shared experience it is NYSRA's goal is to have a consistent understanding so as to raise the bar on the field of play. While we can never eliminate complaints given our special role as referees, we can certainly have a consistent approach and stand out as a branch.

Below is a list of subtopics in our education series The Complete Referee. Please note that the DRC Sessions are mandatory. As well, your feedback is important, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact Ige Egal, Education Officer, NYSRA, or please refer to the membership list for telephone numbers.

Sessions are held every Thursday at 7:30pm at Edithvale Community Centre (7 Edithvale Drive, on Finch Street between Bathurst and Yonge, 2nd Floor) map.

A note on the Mandatory sessions:

This year the CSA is starting a nationwide effort to bring referee education up to the same high standard. The module entitled Back To Basics lives up to its name. But the CSA has told the OSA it's mandatory, the OSA has told your local DRC its mandatory and now your DRC is telling you its mandatory.

A list of our past 2006 sessions is available here.
