Policy Regarding Appropriate Badge for Referees
Effective March 2007
Preamble:
It is recognized that an important part of the referee uniform is the badge. The purpose of this paper is to provide referees with the policy regarding the type of badge that is to be worn.
Detail:
There are four badges that are appropriate for use (based on the referees classification):
FIFA Badge
National Badge
Ontario Soccer Association (OSA) Badge
Ontario Soccer Referee Association (OSRA) Badge
Jurisdiction:
FIFA Badge to be worn by eligible International officials, Referees on all occasions and Assistant Referees when performing the duties as an assistant referee regardless of level of Competition.
National Badge to be worn by eligible National List officials on all appointments, regardless of position or level of Competition
OSA Badge to be worn by OSA officials, not on the National or International Lists, officiating at any game in the Province and must be worn when officiating in competitions out of province
OSRA Badge may be worn by entitled officials at any local games in the province of Ontario cannot be worn for Ontario Cup, National All-Star and National Club Championships a provincial, national or FIFA badge is appropriate depending on referee classification
Sanctions
A referee found to be wearing any other badge or a badge that is not according to standard will be subject to discipline and may be asked to leave the game.

This policy is in effect for Season 2007 and will be reviewed annually.
